The pandemic hurt Information Services financially since we rely on the income from the sale of literature. We need increased contributions from groups and individuals. You can mail a check or call 952-920-3961 and use a credit card.
Al‑Anon/Alateen Information Services of Greater Minneapolis (AIS) serves Al‑Anon and Alateen groups and members in the West Metro Area, including Hennepin, Scott, Carver, Wright and parts of Anoka and Dakota counties.
At the AIS office at 7204 West 27th Street (NW corner of Louisiana Avenue and 27th Street, map) in St. Louis Park you can buy the full range of Al‑Anon and Alateen literature, from books such as Paths to Recovery and Living Today in Alateen to pamphlets and workbooks. In addition to cash and checks, credit and debit cards are accepted for payment.
AIS serves as a clearing house for information on Al‑Anon and Alateen meetings and events in the Minneapolis and west metro area. In cooperation with St. Paul Al-Anon/Alateen Intergroup, it maintains this website, providing information for the entire Greater Twin Cities metropolitan area. If you are troubled by someone else’s drinking, AIS can connect you to an Al-Anon member who will talk to you about their experience.
The activities of the AIS are directed by officers and committee chairs elected by representatives from Al‑Anon and Alateen groups in its service area who attend monthly third Saturday meetings at the office in St. Louis Park.
A small paid staff keeps the office open, schedules volunteers to answer telephone inquiries in their homes, sends out a quarterly newsletter, keeps the website and meeting information up to date, answers questions about Al‑Anon and Alateen, sells Al‑Anon/Alateen Conference Approved Literature (CAL), and takes care of Al‑Anon and Alateen business.
Meetings are in-person on the 3rd
Saturday of every month at the office
7204 West 27th Street, St. Louis Park
Next Meeting:

Literature Available
Al‑Anon/Alateen Information Services
of Greater Minneapolis carries Al‑Anon and Alateen Conference
Approved Literature (CAL), including books
and pamphlets.
One Day at a Time in Al‑Anon (B-6) and Courage to Change (B-16) are two daily readers that offer inspiration. Hope for Today (B-27) is a third daily reader written by Al‑Anon members who grew up with the family problem of alcoholism, but which is valued by Al‑Anon members of all backgrounds. There is a new daily reader, A Little Time for Myself (B-34), which shares the personal experiences and many voices of the Al-Anon fellowship today, illustrating that Al-Anon is indeed for anyone affected by someone else’s drinking.
All four readers have an index in the back
so you may look up common Al‑Anon topics like the slogans,
steps, traditions, and a multitude of other subjects.
One of our recent books, Discovering Choices (B-30), was written by Al‑Anon members about recovery in relationships. This book offers questions for thought and discussion after every chapter. It includes stories submitted by members including some from local members.
In another recent book, Intimacy in Alcoholic Relationships (B-33), members share their challenges with all aspects of intimacy – physical, emotional and spiritual – in all relationships affected by the family illness of alcoholism
For those who like to read, Al‑Anon and Alateen offer many books, booklets, pamphlets, and supplementary materials like bookmarks, all of which are available at our office.
We also have a nice selection of step, slogan, month and year anniversary medallions.
Stop by and check out our literature, or call us at 952-920-3961 and we can ship to you.
Cash, checks and credit or debit cards are accepted for payment.
