This page is concerned with permanent electronic meetings that existed before the COVID-19 pandemic. It does not cover virtual meetings that grew out of in person meetings of local Al‑Anon and Alateen groups. For information about such local virtual meetings see the Virtual Meeting Information page where you will find schedules of virtual meetings as well as a list of in person meeting and meetings that are still suspende3d.
There are electronic Al-Anon meetings on the Internet in several formats – email, chat, bulletin board and voice via internet. There are also meetings conducted by telephone. Such meetings are available in a number of languages including English, Spanish, French, Partugese, Icelandic and Russian.
Electronic meetings, like all Al-Anon meetings, agree to abide by the spirit of the Twelve Traditions. Each Al-Anon member is responsible for keeping the electronic meeting focused on Al-Anon recovery and discussion of Al-Anon related topics. Al-Anon will always be what we – its members – make it.
Confidentiality of sharings may be more difficult to maintain for some Internet services. If you have a need for anonymity, you may want to discuss it further with your internet service provider.
For safety reasons, the only permitted electronic Alateen meetings are on the World Service Office website.
We do not maintain information about electronic meetings other than locally based ones, but the World Service Office does. You can find such information on the WSO website.
